Coach Daynin, who was born and raised in Hawaii, has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since April 2001. She began her training under Jason Izaguirre at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Kailua and remained under his tutelage for 6 years. After moving to Kahala, she transferred to Hawaii Kai Jiu-Jitsu as a purple belt and trained under Ron Huxen for the next 7 years before opening Kahala Jiu-Jitsu (KJJ) the first and only female-owned Jiu-Jitsu and Self Defense school in Hawaii. After opening KJJ, Daynin soon aligned herself and her BJJ academy with Michael Chapman of Impact Jiu-Jitsu, an academy based in Oregon. It is Daynin's desire to achieve her black belt under Michael Chapman whose philosophies, mindset, and goals in BJJ resemble her own. Coach Daynin has competed in various tournaments over the years and has won first place in many of them, to include winning all 3 divisions (Women's Gi, Women's No-Gi and The Women's Absolute Championship) in the 2009 National American Grappler's Association (NAGA) Tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii. She also won first and second place medals at the Worlds Masters Tournament in 2014 in Long Beach, California. Daynin is currently a four-stripe Brown Belt, and aspires to build a school where people can learn the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a WAY OF LIFE, and not as a way to fight. Impact Kahala Jiu-Jitsu has been thriving for three years and currently has a student base of 185 students. Outside of Jiu-Jitsu, Coach Daynin is a single mother of 2 daughters and is an educational and motivational speaker, specializing in working with inventors and entrepreneurs. Daynin is also the founder of Hawaii Seminars and Workshops and "Hawaii Biz Kids" where she teaches kids ages 7-15 about the process of starting and running their own businesses. As an inventor, Daynin has brought many products to market, both nationally and internationally. Her entrepreneurial focus is now geared towards inventing creative products for the BJJ industry. Coach Daynin's only goal as an instructor is to make her students fall-in love with Jiu-Jitsu.
Kahala Jiu-Jitsu is the first and only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Self Defense Academy in Hawaii that is owned and operated by a female.
